For Creators

Publish once. Earn on every deployment.

Turn your Docker stack into a marketplace template. Keep 75% of every sale. Get paid monthly. No hosting work, no payment setup, no DevOps for your buyers.

Four steps from stack to revenue

The publishing flow is built into Stack Builder. You stay in one place from idea to approval to first sale.

1. Build your stack

Compose a multi-container stack in Stack Builder or define it as stacker.yml in your repository. Use any combination of services already in the marketplace.

2. Submit for review

Click Publish to Marketplace. Fill in the business problem your stack solves, category, tags, support URL, and pricing.

3. Review and approval

We review every submission within 1-3 business days for security, format, and metadata accuracy. You see status and feedback in your creator dashboard.

4. Earn on every deployment

Once approved, your template appears on /applications. You keep 75% of every paid deployment. Payouts arrive monthly Net-30 to Stripe or PayPal.

What can you earn?

Creators keep 75% of every sale. The platform fee covers payment processing, marketplace promotion, review, and ongoing development.

Recurring subscriptions earn 75% each renewal cycle, not just the first sale.

Payouts: monthly, Net-30

Predictable, transparent, and on a fixed cadence so you know exactly when revenue arrives.

  • Monthly cycle - Sales settled in a calendar month are paid out by the 30th of the following month. Sales in June → paid by July 30.
  • Minimum payout $50- Balances below $50 roll forward to the next cycle so you don't pay transfer fees on tiny amounts.
  • Stripe Connect or PayPal - Choose during creator onboarding. Stripe Connect Express works in 35+ countries with direct bank transfer.
  • Chargeback handling - Settled balances are protected. If a buyer disputes a sale after payout, future earnings absorb the reversal rather than a clawback.
  • Transparent dashboard - Track gross sales, platform fee, your share, pending payout, and paid history in your creator dashboard.
  • Tax handling - We collect required tax forms during onboarding (W-9 for US, W-8 for non-US) and generate annual statements for your records.

What buyers pay for

Stacks that wire multiple services together to solve a real business problem outperform single-container templates.

  • AI agent workspaces - n8n + vector DB + LLM, ready to deploy for client projects.
  • RAG / Document Q&A - Ingestion + Qdrant + Ollama + chat UI as one bundle.
  • Private AI chat - Open WebUI or LobeChat with Ollama and long-term memory.
  • Self-hosted SaaS - n8n + Supabase + billing + frontend bundles.
  • Internal tooling - NocoDB / Baserow + n8n + Postgres for back-office automation.
  • Data & analytics - Airbyte / Meltano + n8n + warehouse stacks.

Frequently asked questions

How much do creators earn per sale?

Creators keep 75% of every paid deployment. TryDirect takes 25% to cover payment processing, hosting the marketplace, review work, and continued platform development.

When do I get paid?

Monthly Net-30. Sales settled in a calendar month are paid out by the 30th of the following month. Sales in June, for example, are paid out by July 30. Minimum payout threshold is $50; balances below that roll into the next cycle. Full terms: /blog/marketplace-payout-terms.

How are payouts sent?

Two options: Stripe Connect Express (direct bank transfer in 35+ countries) or PayPal. You pick during creator onboarding and can switch later.

How long does template review take?

1-3 business days for a first submission. We check the stack deploys cleanly, contains no embedded secrets, follows the stacker.yml format, and has accurate metadata.

Can I publish free templates?

Yes. Free templates still go through review and benefit from marketplace promotion (SEO pages, social posts, weekly digest). Free creators don't earn revenue but build reputation and audience.

What kinds of stacks sell best?

Multi-service stacks that solve a specific business problem: AI agent workspaces (n8n + Qdrant + Ollama), self-hosted SaaS bundles, RAG pipelines, internal tooling like CRM backends or knowledge bases.

What can't I publish?

Malware, illegal content, unconsented crypto miners, embedded credentials, insecure defaults, and a few other categories are not allowed. Some categories (mass email, scrapers, gambling, adult content) are allowed only with specific conditions. Full list: /blog/marketplace-acceptable-use.

What if my stack updates after publishing?

You can submit new versions any time. Each version goes through review. Buyers who already purchased keep access to all future versions of the same template.

Do I need to handle support for buyers?

You set a support URL (GitHub issues, docs site, email) on each template. TryDirect handles platform-level support (deployment infrastructure, billing); creators handle stack-specific questions.
